Fitted Cap of the Month

Nine times out of ten, style wins over fashion. In a moment of doubt, reach for the classics. The Homestead Grays were one of the most succesfull franchises in the Negro Leagues. The sports dynasty was originally founded as a weekend recreational team for black steel mill workers in Homestead, PA in 1910. Playing for 38 continoius seasons, they won ten Negro National League Titles and three Negro League World Series Titles. Their roster of powerhouse talent included, the "thunder twins" catcher Josh Gibson, first baseman Buck Leonard as well as ace pitcher "Smokey" Joe Williams, and future Hall of Famers "Cool" Papa Bell, Judy Johnson and Martin Dihigo. BLUE MARLIN captures the style of the caps originally worn by players a half-a-century ago. Made from custom dyed wool flannel, the details include a die cut satin stitched applique wool felt logo patch. Available online now at www.bluemarlinclothing.com
