More than a decade ago, Jason and Casey started their firm, PLAN B, with the mission statement: Do whatever it takes to make brands famous. 112,000 hours later, the duo have achieved this goal with an awe inspiring client list. Along with rebranding the identities of over 60 professional sports franchises, they currently have over 150 cap designs currently worn on the field.
Thanks to the magic of Steve Jobs & Co. the crew spend much on the road visiting clubs and finding new sources of inspiration. Early in their history, Jason and Casey were invited to visit the teams around the country but were too young to rent a car. Not phased by the set back, they would cab it instead. When approached about their long taxi rides, their clever response was, "We like to support the local economy and not give our money to the national rent-a-car chains. Just like Minor League Baseball, we're here to serve the small towns around the Country!".
San Diego natives, Jason & Casey have been best friends since kindergarten. The company started out in their college dorm rooms. The duo have brought to life all kinds of team names, mascots, and looks, including top selling logos for the Richmond Flying Squirrels and Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs and modernizing the logos and uniforms for America's oldest baseball club, the Cincinnati Reds. They also invented the first glow-in-the-dark on-field baseball cap for the Casper Ghosts, and the first On-Field Rally Cap design in history for the Altoona Curve.
It isn't all frequent flier points and pixel pushing. Their in depth concept phases includes old fashioned pencil sketches and late night brain storming sessions.
For sports teams with a dated look who wanted to go a new direction, Jason and Casey's operation was their “Plan B.” After 11 years of running a successful business, the title was longer fitting. The 'can-do' attitude, authentic storytelling, and innovative approaches remain the same. The change is a simple evolution of their name that properly reflects what they are about. We will be covering the unveiling of the new name, which is due to be announced within weeks.
